One Day Tours

Our One Day Tours are designed for private groups up to of 6 people (including 1 wheelchair user) or 4 people (including 2 wheelchair users).

Irazú Volcano & Botanical Garden

On the way to the Irazú Volcano, we will find incredible views. Once inside the National Park (3432 meters above sea level), if luck is with us, we will see coatis and hummingbirds visiting the colorful flowers that this area home. From the parking lot to the main crater area (300 meters), there is an accessible trail where we can talk a little about the area’s history and vegetation. Then, we provide ample time to admire the imposing main crater.

On the way to the restaurant for lunch, we stop for photos of the magnificent view the route offers and why not, a stop to buy delicious strawberries. Lunch is included at an accessible local restaurant.

Then, we will go to The Botanical Gardens, which offers a colorful show of plants and orchids. You can see more than 15 thousand species of orchids of which almost 1000 are native to Central America. You will also find the botanical gardens are home to many other plant species from almost every tropical region of our planet. The trail is totally accessible, has an accessible bathroom, and accessible restaurant to have a snack if you wish.

What to bring: Waterproof jacket or coat, closed-toe shoes, long pants, umbrella, insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, a bottle of water, your phone and/or camera to take a lot of pictures, and a great sense of adventure and curiosity.

San José City Tour

We will first take a tour of the city center by car. Once we return to the center, we will make a stop and spend some time in the National Park. From there, we will start walking, passing through either the National Museum, the Jade Museum, or Gold Museum, before visiting the National Theater. There we will talk in its lobby and then continue walking on the outskirts of the building. From there we continue along Central Avenue until we reach the Central Market where we will enjoy an ice cream, sorbet, coffee, or lunch in one of the local shops or stalls.

What to bring: Waterproof jacket or coat, comfortable shoes, long pants, umbrella, sunscreen, hat, bottle of water, your phone and/or camera to take a lot of pictures and a great sense of adventure and curiosity.

Duration: 6 hours

Interests: Culture, Gastronomy

Coffee & Oxcart Tour

We will head to Alajuela Province in a private accessible van, to immerse ourselves into a coffee plantation. You will learn a lot about coffee, our golden grain, its history, and process from local guides. At the end of the tour, you will have shopping time.

Next, your lunch is included at a local restaurant in Sarchí, after which we will do an oxcart tour to learn about this ancient art from the experts.

What to bring: Waterproof jacket or coat, comfortable shoes, long pants, umbrella, insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, a bottle of water, your phone and/or camera to take a lot of pictures and a great sense of adventure and curiosity.

Rafting & Cooking Lesson

This is a very fun full day tour full of contrasts. The Sarapiquí River is one of the most important rivers in the north of the country and has been used for a long time by both locals and visitors to go rafting. The river is divided into different categories. For our clients, we will enjoy category 1 and 2 water, which is easy to navigate but still exciting at the same time. We will do this tour/experience for 2 hours giving the opportunity to observe many birds and reptiles. Once the adrenaline is over, you will have a cooking lesson with lunch included.

What to bring: Comfortable shoes that can get wet, bathing suit, towel, extra clothes to get changed, coat, insect repellent, sunscreen, bottle of water, your phone and/or camera to take a lot of pictures and a great sense of adventure and curiosity. Waterproof case for your camera and binoculars are strongly encouraged.

Duration: 10 hours

Accessible Beach & Adaptive Surfing

Early in the morning, you will go to Playa Madrigales in Jacó, in a private accessible van with driver and certified guide. Here you can enjoy the beach and feel the healing power of the ocean in a 2 hour adaptive surfing lesson with instructors and athletes of the Costa Rican Adaptive Surfing Team. The surf lesson’s time is dependent on the tide and availability of the surf instructors.

Your lunch is included at a local restaurant. You can find accessible bathroom nearby the beach.

What to bring: Bathing suit, towel, a shirt you can get wet, extra clothes to get changed, insect repellent, sunscreen, bottle of water, your phone and/or camera to take a lot of pictures and a great sense of adventure and curiosity. Waterproof case for your camera is strongly encouraged.
