Irazú Volcano & Botanical Garden

On our way to Irazú Volcano, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Central Valley.
Upon arriving at the National Park (3,432 meters above sea level), and if luck is on our side, we might spot coatis and hummingbirds visiting the colorful flowers that thrive in this unique ecosystem. A 300 meter accessible trail leads from the parking lot to the main crater, where we’ll pause to share a bit of local history and explore the area’s diverse vegetation. You’ll have plenty of time to admire the vast and majestic crater.

Before lunch, we’ll stop along the scenic drive to take photos of the stunning landscapes and perhaps pick up some freshly picked strawberries. Lunch is included at a cozy, accessible local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit a spectacular botanical garden, home to a vibrant collection of orchids and tropical plants. The garden hosts more than 15,000 species of orchids, with nearly 1,000 native to Central America. You’ll also discover plants from nearly every tropical region on Earth. The entire trail is fully accessible, and accessible restrooms and a café are available for a relaxing break.

What to Bring: Waterproof jacket, closed-toe shoes, long pants, umbrella, insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, camera or phone, and a curious, adventurous spirit.

San José City Tour

We’ll start with a panoramic tour of San José aboard our private accessible vehicle. Once back in the city center, we’ll stop and stroll through the National Park, then walk past the National Museum, the Jade Museum, or the Gold Museum before reaching the magnificent National Theatre. We’ll share insights in its grand lobby before continuing along the picturesque Central Avenue, ending at the bustling Central Market. Here, you’ll enjoy a local treat whether it’s ice cream, sorbet, coffee, or a tasty lunch.

What to bring: Waterproof jacket, comfortable shoes, long pants, umbrella, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, camera or phone, and a sense of curiosity.

Coffee & Oxcart Tour

We head to the province of Alajuela aboard our private accessible vehicle to immerse ourselves in a traditional coffee plantation. Learn from local guides about Costa Rica’s golden bean its history, cultural importance, and production process. You’ll have time to shop for coffee and souvenirs after the tour.

Next, we head to Sarchí, a town renowned for its vibrant oxcarts and handicrafts. After lunch at an accessible local restaurant, we’ll visit a traditional workshop to learn from master artisans about the history and symbolism of Costa Rica’s famous painted oxcarts.

Safari Float & Natural Trail

This fun-filled day begins with a peaceful Safari Float on a gentle river a perfect way to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. Keep your eyes open for colorful birds, reptiles, and other creatures as you drift along calm waters. The float lasts about 2 hours and offers incredible photo opportunities.

Afterward, we head into the rainforest for a guided walk along a wellmaintained trail. Your guide will highlight fascinating plants and share insights into the ecosystem. This tour perfectly combines exploration and education, immersing you in Costa Rica’s natural wonders.

What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, water bottle, camera or phone, and a sense of adventure. Binoculars and waterproof camera cases are highly recommended.

Accessible Beach & Adaptive Surfing

Start your day early with a drive to the beach town of Jacó in a private accessible vehicle. Here, you’ll feel the healing power of the ocean during a 2-hour adaptive surfing lesson led by skilled instructors and athletes from Costa Rica’s National Adaptive Surf Team. Lesson times vary based on tides and instructor availability.

Lunch is included at a local restaurant, and you’ll find accessible restrooms nearby the beach. Enjoy free time to relax on the shore or use an amphibious beach wheelchair to explore the water.

What to bring: Swimsuit, towel, quick-dry shirt, change of clothes, insect repellent, sunscreen, water bottle, phone/camera (preferably in a waterproof case), and your adventurous spirit.
